Clair Melton is a Certified Sport Yoga Instructor. Her sports background includes cross-country mountain bike racing and adventure racing on the state, national and international levels. This devotion to racing led her into a 15-year career in fitness that includes mountain bike skills classes, group fitness classes, coaching athletes, and personal training. Her personal training certification--Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist--reflects the import she places on all types of strength training.
Participation in long-distance trail running a few years ago led to Clair's practice in yoga--a form of exercise which she had observed becoming mainstream over the past decade. As a middle-aged woman and athlete, she came to appreciate the things that yoga can do for her body that other types of exercise cannot. Wanting to incorporate yoga into her fitness career, she sought out a certification program that emphasizes the exercise-physiology side of yoga.
