I came to massage therapy after practicing yoga for many years. The body awareness that one experiences with a steady yoga practice inspired me to learn more about the body and ways to keep it happy, agile, and healthy.
I graduated from St Edward’s University with a BA in Art and Literature, and then attended Texas Healing Arts Institute for my massage therapy certification.
I have always been interested in wellness. Massage, to me, is a way to unwind, let go, and rejuvenate. It is a time to connect with your own body, and listen to its needs. I hold a solid belief that massage is not just a treat; it is body maintenance. Regular massage, just like any other wellness practice such as mindful eating or exercise, helps keep the body working at its very best. Your body, if treated with care and respect, has incredible self healing powers. Massage facilitates this healing, and can help eliminate pain and discomfort, while increasing range of motion and boosting the immune system. Plus, massage feels great!
I approach bodywork with enthusiasm and great interest. You can check out my website at www.bluedoorbodyworks.com, where I post articles on healthy living, yummy recipes, wellness events around town, and other goodness. I look forward to sharing with you all the benefits of massage!
